Welcome to the website of W. M. Granger & Son (Leics) Ltd.
The family firm of Wm Granger & Son (Leicester) Ltd. goes back to the 1880s When William Granger who kept a public House called ‘The Freemasons Arms’ in Braunstone Gate Leicester started making mops to satisfy a local demand. Thus Grangers early association with the brewery trade began.
This scope widened over the years taking in various industries and customers, although at that time only ‘spike mops’ were on offer. As time went by despite various ups & downs and different locations in the city the range widened to include Socket Mops, Floor Polishing Mops and Kentucky Mops.

By the early 1950s a specialised range of Textiles, Brushware Ropes and Twines along with doormats were complimenting the range. A fire in the mid 1960s destroyed one of the companys sites in Princess Road. As a result the premises in Albion St. were purchased, where the company stayed for some 40 years.
In 2001 another re-location was necessary and the
business moved to its present Lunsford Road site These larger more modern
premises gave rise to further expansion of products were introduced.
Today the company continues to expand its range while still retaining its
original roots, of mop manufacturing.
